Yes, it's true... I can say from experience that the Holy Spirit will equip you with the right words to say, when you need to say them.

Knowing a few meaningful, inspirational or comforting scripture verses provides the Holy Spirit with options for equipping you with the words you need to say, when you need to say them.

My experience has been that the more verses I learn, the calmer I am when facing those always unpredictable right-now moments when the Holy Spirit makes it clear that you are to share the Gospel.

So, please consider this:

Memorizing verses is not just about learning that verse.... it's about memorizing a thought or context which makes the verse so meaningful for our lives.

EXAMPLE OF:
HOW TO CHOOSE
A VERSE

Here is a common NIV verse you are most likely familiar with: Galatians 2:20.
(part of Paul's statement to the Galatians)

"I've been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me".

Powerful and inspiring for sure...
and I included some context by also memorizing verses 19 and 21.

When you recite all three of them in one breath, it provides the listener with a fuller, more informative view of what Paul was emphasizing in verse 20...

AND, AND, AND... you not only have the verse 20 originally wanted to memorize, you also have two additional verses which the Holy Spirit may choose to utilize in it's entirety, or in pieces, through your witnessing, testimony and or praise.

The Holy Spirit will use you to spread the Gospel - so it's important to be ready to answer that call when it happens.

Having a selection of verses for the Holy Spirit to use will build your confidence in every situation. And, even if the Holy Spirit choses to not utilize a verse you have been working on, that's ok, because in some cases, it was only your confidence that was needed to allow the Holy Spirit to use your smile, your eye contact and your peaceful demeanor to sneak past their ego and plant a seed in their soul.

"Pray also for me that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the Gospel for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly as I should.

Here's how it works...

STEP 1

Knot or Plank?

This is a chunk of wood with some
visually interesting features such as
a gnarly knot, or deep growth cracks
and or dark pitch seams. It’s a pretty
amazing little chunk of art, and the
fact that no two are alike and they are
difficult to find means they can and
do take three times longer to make.

These factors are why there is a bit
of a price difference between them.

Knot

It’s much more than just an old cedar
plank from any old fence; these are sought after and cherished. They are
chosen "per the project" for their oddly
unique growth patterns and weather-
induced aging. Years of stain and varnish add to its relic appearance.

for size, shape and color compared to
the other hard-to-find wood knots.

The Bible Verses
you wish to learn

You provide the Chapter and Verse,

I will abbreviate and stylize the text so that it has a design intent.

I try to abbreviate it, on purpose, to spark a bit of curiosity amongst those who attempt to figure it out.

STEP 4

Now...
Adopt-A-Believer
and share your
first verse sign
with them!

As you begin to learn your verses, your very first verse will be so permanently engraved into your memory banks that you will no longer need that little sign as a reminder...

So, you select a fellow believer who you feel could benefit from learning 12 new verses and give them that sign.

By giving them your first sign, you introduce them to the Bible Verse Sign plan for themselves.

Soon they too will be giving away their "first memorized verse sign" to their friends, to keep the momentum rolling.

In fact, everyone could give all of their signs out to other believers, keeping the
Bible Verse Sign idea going.

I've been praying for inspiration on the logistics, costs and fulfillment options for this.

One thought is to promote this on a per-church basis - per group or segment.

Or, it could be managed by a large church with a wide reach via other churches.

I feel it may be important to structure this as a deduction.
